Call me Sev. I was involved in SRB2 starting around 2010 or so. I made maps, wrote music, and occasionally dabbled in other content creation. Today, I am not an active member of the SRB2 or wider Sonic communities.
I was a member of Sonic Team Jr from December 2016 through August 2024. My role on STJr was mainly with the PR side of things. I ran all of STJr's social media at the time (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube), I helped manage our website, I created trailers and other promotional content, and I wrote news posts about new releases and community events. I contributed here and there to the actual game. My most noteworthy contributions are part of the Knuckles path in v2.2's THZ2 as well as the original draft of v2.2's boss theme. I also did minor enhancements on map visuals, and created some graphics for v2.2's revamped NiGHTS, Record Attack, and Character Select menus, as well as the new title card. My proudest contribution is the new boss theme; though I have to give credit to Shane and Clairebun for taking my chiptune to a level I couldn't envision. I was never terribly active on STJr, I must admit, but I felt inclined to do more for the community following the exodus of the old guard. I strove to aim the community in a positive direction, which led me to spearhead the SRB2MB's transition to Xenforo, revive the Official Level Design Contest (now Collab), create video tutorials for how to create maps for SRB2, and more.
I am a member of Kart Krew as of January 2017. If you've played SRB2Kart and/or Ring Racers, you've probably played some of my maps -- Lucid Pass, Aurora Atoll (which started as a singleplayer vanilla SRB2 map), Sonic Speedway, and Espresso Lane are my layouts, as well as a handful of battle stages. I am grateful to my peers whose feedback and graphical work on them allowed them to blossom into some of my proudest creations this side of the Sonic scene.
As I mentioned, you won't often find me poking around the SRB2 space anymore. I now spend time with the Doghouse Games team, with whom I work on Snap the Sentinel, an upcoming retro first-person shooter. If you appreciate the work I did when I was active here, I implore you to check the game out. You will find much of the same soul and charm that SRB2 has in it. We have a free demo on Steam for you to try out.
