Archive talk:SRB2JTE
- This is an archive page for the discussion page of 1.09.4:SRB2JTE. It covers topics from September 18, 2006 – June 19, 2007.
There are no bugs in SRB2JTE. Only incomplete features. Crashes are rare and nearly nonexistant at this point. I cannot use EIP addresses. The SuperVirus is not to be discussed or added to the main page. Do so and I will remove/replace it for later releases. Otherwise, I may well make it a full-on gametype. It's a matter of whether or not you respect me. -Jason the Echidna 01:21, 18 September 2006 (PDT)

I added HMS123311. 62.254.64.15 02:48, 4 January 2007 (PST)
"Also, a rather annoying Super music in HMS123311voice.wad." Are you kidding? That was one of the few parts of it that made me lol. =P --Blue Warrior 18:32, 7 January 2007 (PST)
Actually, that's an opinionated line, which doesn't belong in Wiki articles, save tutorials. Removed. ~DarkWarrior
HOLY COW! (laughing hystericly) THAT SONG WAS FUNNY! And this wad modifies all sounds ( including the spindash). --Anonymous
Page protection
This page has a lot of stupid edits, including garbage that doesn't belong. I'd like to put a protection on it. It's the only page on my watchlist, it's that pathetic. Agree/disagree? ~DarkWarrior
Sure. I don't see anything important that can be added to it, and others are kind of proving this.
EDIT: Done. Any and all edits can be requested via Article Discussion. ~Blue Warrior 14:17, 30 May 2007 (PDT)
SRB2JTE Page
Hey, how about a picture up here? Long articles should have a picture in them someplace. The only question, is what should the picture be of? The bots? --Spazzo 11:37, 31 March 2007 (PDT)
Something that SRB2JTE is known best for and can be visually expressed without looking like normal SRB2. The problem is, with bots, they look like normal players, so any viewers wouldn't get the difference. However, I do have a few ideas.
- SA City picture. One player can run around, having a bunch of bots following behind him; the view can be far away so more of the city can be shown.
- Match Results screen with bots. The only real way we can show that this exe has bots, in my opinion, is by showing a list of bots' names added by a player so the viewer can get the picture of what it's all about. The Match players could be, for instance, Blue Warrior, Tailsbot, Sonicbot, Knucklesbot, Amybot, Stupid thing, Wut?, etc.
- The custom title screens. Halloween and Christmas wouldn't be bad, but I would like to get a picture of Super Virus Blast 2, if I can get that 1 out of 16 chance of it appearing.
Actually, I wouldn't mind having multiple pictures, so I think I'll just try and get snaps of all three. --Blue Warrior 14:41, 31 March 2007 (PDT)
I have been seeing SVB2 alot and seeing this I took a screenshot I'll try to upload it if I can figure out how, I'm not altogether familiar with wiki's. --JEV3(not registered yet)
Got it, here is the link to it --- JEV3 13:21, 25 July 2007 (PDT)
Oops, didn't see a reply here... link removed.
Reorganization
I would just like to note that I've taken the effort to reorganize the talk page, since it was getting pretty mangled by now. Since of a lot of the comments didn't have subheaders before them, I just put a break in between every post that wasn't a reply to the last. ~ Blue Warrior 18:23, 2 May 2007 (PDT)

How does SRB2 Univirse work?
It doesn't. Danielthefalcon 12:22, 23 December 2006 (PST)
But Danielthefalcon, have you read this??? Open the menus with the lightdash button until a menu button. If you want to see the remains of SRB2 Universe in the latest version type in " Map Map21 -force " or " Map Map22 -force " Into the console. You should be able to see the remains of it.

when i start the Srb2JTE it says fmod file not found what do? --Anonymous
Check to see if srb2JTE is in the same folder as SRB2. You can't put it in a subfolder. --Blue Warrior 06:34, 23 April 2007 (PDT)

I start it up, but I cant find any servers. Whats going on? --Anonymous
SRB2 and SRB2JTE are two separate programs, which means that SRB2 netgames don't work on SRB2JTE, and vice versa. So, in this case, even though there are probably netgames on SRB2, there aren't any on SRB2JTE. I would just be patient, as a server usually pops up from time to time. ~ Blue Warrior 18:23, 2 May 2007 (PDT)
I'm playing a Tag game, then all of a sudden, like about 1 minute or lower, the game stops to go to the next level. How do I bypass this? --Anonymous
By the way you described it, it's actually a bug with normal SRB2. In tag, all points in from the last game are carried over to the next, though the results screen doesn't display any points at all. Thus, when a person is shot, everybody gets another point and the game ends again. You can bypass this bug by disabling the point limit and instead setting a time limit. ~ Blue Warrior 17:50, 13 May 2007 (PDT)
OK, but how do I set a time limit and disable point limits? --Anonymous
That can be done via Network Options in the Multiplayer menu. Or you can just go into console and adjust them with "timelimit" and "pointlimit". ~ Blue Warrior 15:38, 14 May 2007 (PDT)
'I'm afraid it isn't working.' Oops. I forgot to disable the point limit. Also, I downloaded HMS123311Voice.wad yesterday (or was it the day I posted this message?) and I'm to say two things. 1 is, is HMS supposed to fly? The other is, is HMS supposed to transform into his super form at the begining of the level, even if you don't have all the Chaos Emeralds? --Anonymous
I haven't used HMS with SRB2JTE as of yet, but judging from the text in the article, and the fact that it's a joke wad anyway, that was most likely intentional. ~ Blue Warrior 15:18, 15 May 2007 (PDT)
Look at this to download. [http:/? Link removed.]
...I have him, I just haven't tried him out. Either way, I'm sure it was intentional. ~ Blue Warrior 19:49, 15 May 2007 (PDT)
OK..... Can you please try him out?

I was wondering when the next update will be - but that's not my question. What it IS, though, is if the PSO thing might be a seprate mod for that. Ah2190 10:48, 17 June 2007 (PDT)
I don't know the answer to either question. SRB2Universe is pretty much out of the mix until JTE wants/has time to work on it. I don't even know if there will ever be an update to SRB2JTE, because I don't know if Jason's even working on his exe anymore. I hate patrolling article when I don't even know if its topic is still alive. ~ Blue Warrior 16:42, 17 June 2007 (PDT)
Well, could you tell Jason next time you see him about what I said? Ah2190 00:46, 19 June 2007 (PDT)
