Challenges is an option in the Extras menu of Dr. Robotnik's Ring Racers which allows you to see the various challenges that the game has to offer. Akin to games like Super Smash Brothers, whenever a challenge is completed, it will unlock hints for the challenges around it on the Challenges screen, with the layout being randomized per save file.
Unlockables

Challenges in Ring Racers fall into one of six categories based on what they would unlock, and can have various conditions in order to unlock. Challenges which are hinted at can get unlocked early by using a Chao Key, unless they are a big challenge - in which case they need to be unlocked by completing all the other challenges surrounding them, excluding other big challenges, and require 10 Chao Keys to unlock. The password system can also unlock certain sets of challenges, either normally (if the challenge indicates it as a condition) or as though Chao Keys were used (for sets like unlocking all paint jobs, etc).
Note that the challenge for Character "[SECRET]" below cannot be unlocked via Chao Keys, and must be unlocked by fulfilling its conditions. Certain stages, such as Hidden Palace Zone and a secret boss battle, do not have an associated challenge and must also be unlocked manually.

Colors
There are a total of 100 colors that can be unlocked, of which each requires collecting a certain number of spray cans - the order of which is randomized, but the first one can be chosen during the Tutorial.
