This is the only year to have a NiGHTS level in every contest. Levels in gray are rule-breaking levels and have been disqualified.
January/February
- Host: FuriousFox
- Then-current SRB2 version: v1.09.4
This was the first contest to have two NiGHTS levels entered into the same division: Endless Mine Zone and Wacky Track Zone. Physics Lab Zone won its division by a margin of 4.93 points since the other submissions all received very low scores. Spring Passage Zone had been released before the contest started, but this was not found out until months after the contest had ended, so it was not disqualified.
DimenGlabSpecial was an attempt to emulate the Special Stages of Jazz Jackrabbit in SRB2. It was uniformly agreed to be terrible and fell only one vote shy of a 0.00, making it the lowest-rated Single Player map ever released to the OLDC. Forever Forest Zone placed a strong focus on scenery and exploration instead of traditional platforming. While several voters commented that they got lost, the map was well-received. It would have received an 8.00 had two people not voted 0 because the original submission was broken. Most voters played and rated a fixed version instead.

March/April
- Host: FuriousFox
- Then-current SRB2 version: v1.09.4
This contest was the first to have an empty Capture the Flag division. Voiced Concern Zone, a joke level that was made to criticize the addition of Chaos Emeralds in Match for the next version of SRB2, won its division, the first joke level to ever do so. Undersea Palace Zone was inspired by the then-unreleased Deep Sea Zone, which had been featured in a preview video released in March, and made extensive use of waterslides. Voting for it was controversial, with votes spanning from 0 to 9. Triopolis Town was disqualified because it had been released before the contest.

May/June

- Then-current SRB2 version: v1.09.4
Due to problems in previous contests with several sub-par maps submitted by the same user, a new rule was implemented for this contest that prevented users from submitting more than one map per division. Elemental Mansion Zone Act 1 was a fairly large map divided into sections that each had a different theme. Reactions to it were very polarized, with scores spanning from 1 to 10. Some users praised the map for its size and variety, while others found much of the gameplay to be repetitive and uninspired. Both Arid Oasis Zone and Limestone Ruin Zone were disqualified, as they had both been released before the contest. Magma Core Zone was intended for Blade's level pack Lost Worlds. A remake of the level which reused a small section would later win the September/October 2009 OLDC.

November/December
- Host: FuriousFox
- Then-current SRB2 version: v1.09.4
This contest was considered to have one of the highest-quality Single Player divisions for v1.09.4, with three levels getting an average above 8. The winner of the division, Aquatic Labyrinth Zone Act 1, was a remake of a level of the same name from Kuja's level pack The Emerald Isles, in which it is now included. At the time, it was one of the largest and most complex levels made for SRB2, featuring three concurrent paths in some areas. It was mostly very well-received, but it generated minor controversy due to the poor visibility of the air bubbles and intense lag for some players.
Blown Fuse Zone was a conscious attempt to work around the problems that 2D mode was considered to have at the time, such as a poor camera. It was generally considered successful in this attempt and remains the highest-rated 2D level ever submitted to the OLDC. Forever Forest Zone Act 2 expanded further on the scenery-based approach of Forever Forest Zone from the January/February OLDC, featuring no enemies and very little platforming. While it was generally well-received, several voters lamented the lack of conventional gameplay. Death Egg Zone Act 2 was intended for Blade's level pack Lost Worlds, while Greenery Pass Zone was an early version of Solstice Pass Zone Act 1 from CoatRack's level pack Chaos Domain.
