Talk:Linedef executor
Tutorial needed.
This subject needs a GOOD tutorial rather badly. The previous article I rewrote tried to do so, but was very unspecific. I attempted to clean up the article and be slightly a tutorial, but it's very hard to write one without any pictures. We also may want to create specific terminology for linedef executors. I used the words "trigger" and "command" in my rewrite, but we may want to be a little more specific and make a term for each, to make sure it's clear what is being talked about.-Mystic 04:06, 19 June 2006 (CDT)
I was having a hard time understanding this. OK. Is this how it works?:
There's a sector that you, another player, all players, or an object enters. That has the Sector Type Trigger Linedef Executor, e.g., Check for Pushable Objects on FOF.
Create a control sector. Tag the first sector to a linedef in this control sector. This linedef shows the condition, e.g., Continuous, Each Time, Red Team Continuous.
The other linedefs in the control sector are going to be tagged to the sector it affects. These are the command linedefs, e.g., Award points.
Did I understand it correctly? –SonicMaster 17:49, 9 December 2007 (PST)
EDIT: Didn't try it out because, well, I have to use my friend's computer for SRB2DB (it crashes mine, but not his). WadAuthor is stupid (and ran out of shareware time), not to mention DeePsea has an even WORSE interface. –SonicMaster 17:50, 9 December 2007 (PST)
