Talk:Linedef type 13
What's this bug about the tag -1? I honestly can't understand what the problem is. Someone care to explain, please? --Ricardo 21:57, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Normally, if you give something a tag of -1, the effect will affect all sectors in the map. That's useful if you want to have one specific colormap in the entire level, for example. But for the Heat Wave Effect, nothing happens with a tag of -1. --SpiritCrusherTalk • Contribs 08:00, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Hm, I honestly never heard of something like that. In Workbench, if you try to give a tag of -1 to a linedef, it won't let you because it says it only accepts number characters in that field. In SRB2 Doom Builder, you can give it a tag of -1, but it will revert automatically to 65535, the max value. I tried applying the 65535 tag to a few effects but it didn't do anything, none of the sectors had the effect... Know of any type that does work with the tag of -1 (65535)? --Ricardo 09:35, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Never mind that, I forgot to test the obvious one, the colormap. But anyway, it is clear that it's not only the heat wave effect that doesn't work with the -1 tag. --Ricardo 09:40, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
Most effects don't even make sense with the -1 tag, but it would be practical for this specific effect. Not really a bug, more like a missing feature that should be there. Oh and yes, it's actually 65535 but "-1" is more convenient to type. --SpiritCrusherTalk • Contribs 09:44, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
