Talk:Water design
Proposal: spliting up this article into two
This article is too long for someone is getting started with level design (and scary for editor for updating it... one year with no edit proves it). So I propose to split it up into two articles:
- Water Design - for pure-scenic water, with and without current.
- Liquid Hazard Design - for chemicals, nitric, lava and so on...
Also, someone who wants to learn how to "build" Liquid Hazards hardly would guess that he will find what he needs in same place where scenic water is explained. --Ezer'Arch 14:28, 15 November 2009 (UTC)
Then make an appropriate redirect. Probably like a Hazard disambiguation page...maybe I'll think of something quickly. Splitting this page would be super pointless, because it would be just a big clone. –SonicMaster 00:33, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
I just did a major rewrite of the article, because almost all of the information in it was completely useless or redundant. We should probably rename the article to "Water Tutorial" as well. -Mystic 04:31, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
Well what you have now feels too short. I almost feel that water is just too basic to deserve a tutorial. –SonicMaster 05:05, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
Well, it's a common question we used to get, back before the tutorial existed. Also, it would be a good place to put things like the information in how default lava is set up, as well as general colormap information. It's okay to have simple articles that explain simple things in very few words. -Mystic 06:08, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
