Centigrade still redirects here. –SonicMaster 16:40, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
EDIT: When I said "SRB2 Official," I messed up. I meant recognizable and popular enough for the Wiki. So, technically, this is still a personal page as of now, but at least I left the redirect for you. =D –SonicMaster 16:45, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
That's entirely acceptable. I do plan to use this as the real page for centigrade, though. Unless you have some personal gripe with that, I'll just continue writing the page here until it will actually serve a purpose to the wiki as a whole. Afterwards, I'll just move it back and bug the crap out of someone to include it under the modifications portion of the main page. -Blue04 22:06, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
It's fine right here. That's what personal pages are for! –SonicMaster 23:48, 15 October 2008 (UTC)
I'm mostly concerned about using this as the real Centigrade article. Would that be acceptable? -Blue04 02:15, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
I don't see any rule that says "no." We're not NPOV freaks like Wikipedia, but it would be unorthodox to see a first-person view as the main description. However, it is interesting to hear what you have to say, and I think it might be OK under a section like Author's Notes or something, but I'm not really sure. *asks DW* –SonicMaster 04:04, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
- I fully expect that such articles will not be NPOV. Though, I think a tag noting that it's not NPOV would be appropriate, though not with a "This needs to be fixed" warning like Wikipedia. Just for notation.
- Also, I, personally, don't really like the whole first-person thing, myself, but others might. Might be worth watching this progress. ~DarkWarrior Talk • Contribs 18:29, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
- Edit: I just realized we're treating NPOV and First-Person as the same, when they aren't. First-Person is a style of writing, and NPOV is written in the form of someone taking absolutely no stance on a subject with heavy opinions on different sides of said subject. What are we really talking about here? ~DarkWarrior Talk • Contribs 18:33, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
We're asking if it looks right on the SRB2 Wiki to have the author's notes and philosophies behind the mod on the mod page itself, even if it is in a separate header. –SonicMaster 18:54, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
- First person is a perspective of writing; saying something is first person doesn't have any affect on the content in question, only the presentation. NPOV means that article is written from a non-biased, third-person perspective that affects the content. To pin down exactly what content I plan to be including, I will be writing this article in an attempt to flesh out the intents and ideas behind the levels.
- Think about it this way: Look at the Mystic Realm article. At the moment, the set of pages is a disgrace. It's essentially a bunch of technical information, and a walkthrough for a few select stages. Now, think about what would happen if Mystic himself came down from the sky and fleshed out everything. You'd suddenly see new things sprout up everywhere: Reasons why things happened the way they did, goals for the project, and opinions on the levels themselves. I mean yes, it's entirely reasonable to have a walkthrough section for those who need it, but there's just so much more that can be done with wiki pages. Keep in mind that this is a community of developers, so seeing eye-to-eye with the creators of all the great mods out there would be really awesome. Which is exactly what I plan to do. -Blue04 23:08, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
