Damage (Fire)
Sector type 3, Damage (Fire), is a sector type which damages the player unless the player has an Elemental Shield or a Flame Shield. When applied to a water block, it will become solid to mimic the consistency of real lava. When Flag [1] / Block Enemies is checked on the FOF's control linedef, the FOF will become intangible. In NiGHTS levels, these sectors do not cause damage in 3D mode due to all damage being disabled; in 2D mode, they cause normal NiGHTS damage.
This special is notably used as the "lava damage" in Red Volcano Zone as well as many custom RVZ-themed levels. In this context, it is used on an opaque water FOF with a #FF7F00Z colormap, ERLAVA1
flats, and RVZFALL1
textures.
It should be noted that when any rings come into contact with a FOF with this sector type, they will be melted. This includes both placed rings and rings released by a damaged player.

Water FOF control sector | Damages players when anywhere inside the FOF, unless they have an Elemental Shield or a Flame Shield. All sides and planes of the FOF are solid and damaging. When Flag [1] / Block Enemies is checked on the FOF's control linedef, all sides and planes will turn intangible. |
